      • Admitted Graduate Student** - A student who holds a bachelor's degree and has been admitted to a master’s program (degree, endorsement, authorization, CTL). (kcm)

      • Admitted Undergraduate Student** - An enrolled degree seeking student in a post-secondary institution. (kcm)

      • Cumulative GPA -** An average of all grade points for courses taken. (kcm)

      • Degree-seeking Student** - A student enrolled in a specific degree program. (kcm)

      • Dual Enrollment -** The program is an opportunity for students to complete one application process for enrollment at either Chemeketa Community College or Clatsop Community College and Western Oregon University. Eligible students can receive financial aid at one institution for the combined credits at each school. The program is open to all U.S. citizens, permanent residents and eligible non-citizens pursuing their initial bachelor’s degree. (kcm)

      • Enrolled** - (kcm)

      • FTE Faculty/Staff Employment – A measure of effort where a full-time appointment (across all employment units) is equal to a total FTE of 1. FTE for part-time effort assigned to faculty/EPA non-faculty is a fraction of individual expected workload. For reporting purposes FTE is reported directly from the BANNER field nbrjobs_fte** which is maintained by the Human Resources office. It is not calculated for individual reports or specific date ranges. (bv)

      • FTE Student Enrollment** – Based on college level courseload only (students taking only ESL or sub 100 level courses are excluded). Using this measure, a full-time student is represented as an FTE of 1. A part-time student is represented as a fraction (.25, .50, or .75) of a full-time student.

Student FTE is context specific. For Financial Aid purposes/reports 12 undergraduate hours are considered full time and 9 graduate hours are considered full-time. For tuition calculations and (some) academic planning purposes, 15 undergraduate hours and 12 graduate hours are considered full-time. The OUS system uses 15UG/12GR units for reporting. (bv)

      • Full-time Student** - When an undergraduate student is enrolled in 12 or more credits in any one term as of the FTE (full-time equivalent) and/or when a graduate student is enrolled in 9 or more credits in any term. (kcm)

      • GPA** - Grade Point Average. (kcm)

      • Headcount-** Question -- when reporting final headcount numbers, do other offices include those students who dropped after the course began? Some Banner reports count those students, while others don't. I believe the 4th-week numbers include those students, but should our final headcount include them? (ah)

Institutional Research (IR) perspective: IR uses the enrollment snapshot that is taken at the end of the 4th week fall term as the official
campus numbers. So any adds or drops occuring prior to the 4th week are reflected in our counts. We also provide separate reports that
are based upon end of term numbers but the norm for our office is 4th week unless otherwise specifically requested. (bv)
>> Just a business procedure question, but isn't there a deadline to Add, Drop, Withdraw BEFORE the 4th week snapshot. So any headcount after that point should be true? (jeb)

      • International Student -** A student who is from another country other than the U.S. (kcm)

      • Institutional GPA -** An average of all grade points for courses taken within the institution. (kcm)

      • Non-admitted Graduate Student** - A student who holds a bachelor's degree and is enrolled in courses for credit who is not recognized by the institution as seeking a degree or formal award. (kcm)

      • Non-admitted Undergraduate Student -** A student taking undergraduate level courses for credit but are not admitted into a program of study. (kcm)

      • Non-credit Enrollment -** Course offerings in which no credit is awarded for completion; non-credit courses often serve to upgrade skills, maintain licensure, or gain personal enrichment. (kcm)

      • Non-Degree-Seeking Student -** A student enrolled in courses for credit who is not recognized by the institution as seeking a degree or formal award. (kcm)

      • Program GPA -** An average of all grade points for courses taken for the program enrolled. (kcm)

      • Registered** - (kcm)

      • Term GPA** - An average of all grade points for courses taken during a term. (kcm)

      • Total unduplicated headcount** - provides a more comprehensive picture of student enrollment. This
number reflects the total of all students, counted only once, enrolled in an OUS institution during
any of the four terms of the year, regardless of course load. Both regular and extended campus
enrollments are included. (bv - from 2008 OUS factbook pg. 9) 2008 Factbook Link then click Enrollment Definitions. (Unsure as to whether to link to factbook as link may change and it's still necessary to perform extra click for the pdf.) Your Thoughts? (bv)
